03 Sep Ahiida: Modest Swim & Athletic Wear Empower Muslim Sportswomen and Enthusiasts
Founder: Aheda Zanetti
What’s worse than playing netball in a traditional hijab and veil? The apparent gap in the fashion market that doesn’t cater to athletes and enthusiasts who follow different faiths and lifestyles or have a body type that’s different from the ones mass-produced.
In 2003, Aheda Zanetti, founder of Ahiida was inspired to action when watching her niece playing netball uncomfortably in a traditional hijab & veil and began a search for sporting garments suitable for Muslim women. Ahiida pioneered the designs for high quality Burkini Swimwear and Hijood Sportswear that is in line with Islamic values, allowing Muslim women the choice to participate in sporting, swimming and day to day activities with confidence. Unexpected supporters of the Ahiida line of products come from skin cancer survivors who need extra sun protection.
Ahiida’s products aim to provide freedom, ease and comfort to muslim female athletes, all of which raise their confidence and potential while trying to take away the distraction from performance.
Why we love Ahiida: Ahiida’s modest athletic wear has allowed many women to participate, enjoy and excel at sports and water activities that they would have previously avoided due to of health, body or religious concerns.
